Joined IFSO in 2002 as one of the leading members of IFSO by the great efforts of our former president and current honorary president Prof. Dr. Mustafa Taskin. Our society hosted IFSO 2013 World congress in Istanbul and also hosted 4 Mediterranean, and 12 local Bariatric-Metabolic Surgery meetings so far in Turkey and Azerbaijan. Provides bariatric surgery training opportunities to General Surgery Specialists, Dietitians and all allied health specialists in Turkey and Eurasia region. Committed to establish accreditation and educational activity programs to increase the quality of bariatric patient care and practices. Provides support groups and educational seminars for bariatric surgery patients and provide educational brochures and videos for the patients and their families about Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery practices. 486 members.
